University of Central Florida: Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies

¡Bienvenidos!

The Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies Program offers a variety of courses and events that promote an understanding of Latin America and the Caribbean as well as Latino/Hispanic populations of the United States. The program includes a strong emphasis on community education and involvement that is demonstrated through newspaper and television communications as well as timely public events. LACLS offers an interdisciplinary minor in Latin American Area Studies and hosts the annual UCF Latin American Cultural Festival of Orlando.

November 2009

photoSeveral College of Arts & Humanities faculty members visited the Russian State University for the Humanities for an international conference in Moscow. Dean José Fernández, Richard Crepeau, José Maunez-Cuadra, Paolo Giordano, and Fon Gordon along with UCF Associate Vice President of Regional Campuses Denise Young led discussion panels at the conference titled "American Cultural Myths and Perspectives on the USA Literary Perception".
